How fast is your service?

Dot11 Networks provides high speed internet on a shared bandwidth basis. This means that the total amount of bandwidth available depends on the number of users accessing the system at any given time. Dot11 utilizes industry standard subscription rates to make sure that there is enough bandwidth to support our users and maintain adequate speed levels. Because of the technology we currently use, we can not garantee a speed, but will work to keep it at broadband levels. Current network speeds are averaging between 600 kb/s and 1.5 Mb/s four our Basic and Premium service plans.

For users of our Ultra plan, speeds can reach as high as 3Mbps download and 768kbps upload.

Do you limit my upload speed?

Unlike Cable, DSL, and other wireless competitors, we do not limit your upload speed on our Basic and Premium service plans. Your upload speed should be about the same as your download.

What is the system reliability?

Dot11 strives to keep all parts of the network up at all times. However, there may be times of brief outages due to circumstances beyond our control. Should an outage occur, we will work to have the issue resolved within 24 hours when humanly possible.

Can I get dedicated bandwith (i.e. T1's, etc.)?

Dot11 can provide deidcated bandwidth through partner networks. Please call us at 866-dot11net to discuss your options.

Can I use peer to peer services such as Kazaa, Bit Torrent, etc.?

Peer to peer services are allowed on a download only basis. This means that you can not share files on your computer through our network, but you may still be able to download them. However, abuse of network bandwidth with constant downloads will result in speed limits or port blocking on your account.
